Chrystian

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Samsung Electronics

Hello! I’m Chrystian, a DevOps, AI, DB, Site Reliability, Software Engineer? (often times I’m not even sure myself) at Samsung Research, Jakarta. I’ve worked with the Cloud Infra R&D Group, MX Mobile Experience team ever since I joined in 2022. In recent years, I’ve been entrusted with focusing more heavily on deployment operations, making our services more reliable, and quickly diagnosing and fixing critical production issues. Most importantly, I have been enhancing communication, increasing collaboration between other R&D group around the world. I also maintain CI/CD pipelines, including creating GitHub Actions, managing cloud migrations, image promotions between clusters, and handling Zero Downtime Deployments for our services.

Before this, I was an AI and Software Engineer, where I developed and optimized Distributed Query Engine using machine learning and reinforcement learning. I also worked on training large language models for mobile use and was part of the audio/video streaming services team, where I implemented gRPC client LookAside algorithm; Efficient audio/video track stream routing algorithm for auto-scalable, Cloud Native, Selective Forwarding Units (SFU) for WebRTC.

Originally, I graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from Gadjah Mada University, where I created SP-BatikGAN, a GAN for generating symmetric patterns with limited data without GAN collapse. I’ve been fortunate to receive several awards, including the Sea Group Ltd. Scholarship and the Hanrieder Foundation for Excellence award, to name a few. I’m passionate about building efficient, scalable systems, integrating AI into real-world cloud applications, and always looking for new challenges!
